“According to the UN’s Global E-waste Monitor, 53.6 million tonnes of e-scrap was generated in 2019 and only 17.4% of this was collected and recycled. The 2019 figure is at an all-time high and the growing world population is projected to generate around 74 million tonnes of e-scrap by 2030. While the amount collected for recycling has grown by 1.8 million tonnes since 2014, the total escrap generation in that period increased by 9.2 million tonnes.
